Well-known figure model Amber, 8 months pregnant with her first child, joined me on an outing on the Patomac River. Getting herself out on theis thin ledge by an area of still water allowed for this beautiful reflections shot. Making what we could out of the harsh light, her belly bulge projected onto the rock wall, mimicking a shadow from the crevase to her left.

"Pregnant Reflections #1" combines elements of birth and water, and contrasts of the most gentile (a pregnant mother) with the forboding rock wall, with the additional tension she is almost "stranded" in the water.
